Embracing Resilience: A Story of Determination
My name is Victoria Maruhina /Hincu, and this is my story—a journey of resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to creating change. My experiences inspired the creation of VMTcoin and VM Foundation DAO, a movement dedicated to addressing homelessness, corruption, bullying, and inefficiencies in support systems.
A Life Shaped by Struggle and Strength
At 24, I migrated to Ireland with my two young children as a single mother. I worked tirelessly to build a new life, balancing professional pursuits and raising my children alone. Over 25 years, I embraced Ireland as my home, becoming an Irish citizen, while navigating cultural isolation and professional challenges.
I worked as a freelance interpreter, assisting immigrants, asylum seekers, and refugees, and even launched my own agency. Later, I created a wholesale business importing Moldovan wines and spirits under the brand V&P Irish Line, later rebranded asVittora, inspired by my family’s winemaking tradition and Toria, inspired by my granny. Despite these achievements, I faced bullying, threats, and corruption, left alone without support from authorities.
The Unthinkable: Experiencing Homelessness
Life took a devastating turn when I became homeless. Unable to secure assistance from the State, I lived in my car for months with my two loyal dogs, Charlie and Bella. Despite health challenges, cold winters, and bureaucracy, these companions were my source of strength.
I eventually found temporary accommodation, but recurring corruption and systemic inefficiencies forced me into homelessness again. This personal experience exposed the gaps in Ireland’s support systems, including lack of legal protection for renters, bureaucratic inefficiency, nepotism and indifference to pet owners in need.
The Flaws in the System
Through my journey, I discovered how homelessness isn’t just about lacking shelter—it’s a psychological and systemic challenge. The inefficiencies, nepotism, and corruption in support systems left me and my family unsupported. Despite contacting TDs, Senators, the Housing Minister, and even the Taoiseach, meaningful assistance was unavailable.
If, I will ever decide to become a politician, I will never do it as a member of a party...I will run as an Independent.
The human factor—attitudes, judgment, and indifference—proved as harmful as the lack of resources. These failures inspired me to create a solution outside traditional systems, one that empowers people rather than marginalising them.
VMTcoin & VM Foundation DAO: Empowering Real Lives
From these experiences, I created VMTcoin and the VM Foundation DAO, a blockchain-based ecosystem designed to provide real-world impact. This system:
Addresses homelessness, social injustice, and corruption
Eliminates fragmented bureaucracy
Provides equal opportunities for all, regardless of nationality, gender, or background
Supports pets and families in distress
The DAO allows participants to contribute to, govern, and benefit from the ecosystem through VMTcoin tokens and VM NFTs, linking digital ownership to tangible social impact.
A Movement for Ireland and Beyond
VMTcoin and VM Foundation DAO are more than personal projects—they are global movements. My goal is to build a compassionate, skilled team to support individuals and businesses, free from nepotism or judgment.
Through NFTs, digital products, and VMTcoin crowdfunding, this ecosystem is self-sustainable, focusing on dignity, empowerment, and resilience. My vision is to create a future where everyone, including pets, is valued and supported.
